Shannon is a U.S.-trained lawyer with experience practicing in Virginia and D.C. prior to her call to the B.C. Bar in 2019. In addition to her family and employment practice, she has experience in general civil litigation and contract disputes. Shannon has appeared before the B.C. Supreme Court and administrative tribunals. She will look at your case holistically, empower you with an understanding of your rights and options, and guide you in selecting the right legal tools to reach your goals.

Shannon earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from Chicago-Kent College of Law. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from UBC with a major in English Language and a minor in French Literature. Starting in law school, Shannon has supported access-to-justice initiatives. She took shifts at the Cook County Courthouse Help Desk to assist self-represented litigants navigate filings. After graduating, she provided pro bono legal support to domestic abuse survivors and helped low-income residents claim tax credits. Shannon supported professional women’s mentoring through the D.C. Women’s Bar Association by serving as Co-Chair of the Mentoring Committee from 2014 to 2018. In 2019 she joined the Canadian Bar Association’s Women’s Law Forum to continue that work.

Outside the office, Shannon enjoys endurance sports such as running, cycling and hiking, and listening to trivia podcasts. After competing in Ironman and marathon races along the East Coast, she looks forward to exploring similar events in and around Vancouver.
